Carl Fennessy is the CEO of the recently merged Endemol Shine Australia, a role he resumed in July 2013 after his two-year tenure as CEO of Shine America. Prior to this, Carl oversaw the launch of Shine Australia in 2010 as its Co-CEO and was a driving force in the company’s aggressive growth. Carl joined Shine after successfully launching FremantleMedia Australia with his brother Mark where he served as Chief Operating Officer. Before planting FremantleMedia’s flag in Australia, Carl had previously launched and managed independent Australian production company, Crackerjack. Carl began his career in Australia at the Seven and Nine networks.
Mark Fennessy is CEO of the newly merged Endemol Shine Australia. Since launching Shine in early 2010, Mark has overseen the placement and roll out of many successful productions such as The Voice, Shark Tank, MasterChef, Gogglebox, The Bachelor and new Endemol Shine Australia format Spelling Bee. In 2014, Mark oversaw Shine’s first scripted drama INXS: Never Tear Us Apart that broke ratings records. Other scripted dramas include, Catching Milat, Peter Allen: Not The Boy Next Door and BROCK currently in production. Prior to setting up Shine Australia, Mark formed and led one of Australia’s most highly respected boutique production companies, Crackerjack. In 2006, Crackerjack merged with Grundy Television to form FremantleMedia Australia with Mark appointed to the role of CEO. Mark also spent more than ten years as Executive Producer both at Nine and MTV Networks.
