At 13 years old, YouTube is a fully-fledged teenager, and one of an ever-growing number of internet-delivered content platforms. It’s time to stop calling these online platforms ‘new’ and embrace the many different ways of financing and distributing content that they offer outside the traditional system. The panel has bypassed the traditional marketplace and found great success online. They’ll discuss where to find finance, the revenue models, and the relative merits of traditional versus online partners. Joining the panel is Amanda Barclay from YouTube Originals who will discuss from the perspective of the grandfather of online video platforms and its foray into financing original content.
