Dan Sheldon is the Development Executive at FremantleMedia Australia (FMA). He is currently working on a broad range of local and global formats in various stages of development. As well as adapting a slate of international programs for the local market, his role has him working alongside FMA’s Director of Development, Caroline Spencer, creating new and original content for Australian broadcasters and audiences.
Before joining the development team, Dan was Series Producer for the first two series of The Great Australian Bake Off – winner of the 2017 SPA Award for Reality Series Production. What Dan is looking for:
At FremantleMedia Australia we are looking for exciting new content that creates “noise”. A particular focus is ob-docs and fixed rig formats that give us access to established institutions (eg; the ambulance service, hospitals, educational establishments). We have great pedigree in producing entertainment formats and are always keen to hear ideas in this space. Family programming with broad appeal is of real interest to us as well as ideas that engage the younger demographic across the multichannels.
My specialty is in factual and entertainment formats. Not of interest to me are documentaries, dramas or programmes that centre on niche subjects.
