Graeme Russell is the Chief Executive Officer of Industry Super Fund Media Super, the $5.5 billion industry superannuation fund covering the printing, journalism, entertainment and arts industries, a position he has held since 2013. Graeme has had a diverse career holding various senior strategic roles, spanning a variety of industries and including superannuation, public service, research and innovation, communication and travel.
Media Super has been working with Australia’s creative industries for more than 30 years. They are run only to benefit members and aim to help them make the most of their super in order to achieve a financially secure life after work. They also work closely with industry partners to support professional development programs, workplace education sessions and industry awards.
In a unique investment in Australia’s film and television industry, Media Super invests $60 million in a revolving loan facility to Fulcrum Media Finance. This is used to cash-flow the Australian Producer Offset and provide access to pre-sale advance loans for film and television productions across Australia and New Zealand. Since 2010, they’ve invested more than $150 million in over 100 productions, ranging from feature films such as The Dressmaker, Lion and Breath, to TV favourites like Upper Middle Bogan, Cleverman and Rake.
