Josie Mason-Campbell joined the ABC in 2017 as Head of Non-Scripted Production, now named Entertainment and Factual, with a wealth of experience within the industry and across genres. Josie now oversees the production and development of the ABC’s Entertainment, Factual and Documentary slate as well as collaborating across other genres such as live Events and Arts.
Josie leads a fantastic team of industry professionals and is responsible for the commissioning and editorial of shows such as Gruen, Mad As Hell, The Weekly, Julia Zemiros Home Delivery, Anh Do’s Brush with Fame, War on Waste, Back in Time For Dinner, Escape from the City and the new Tomorrow Tonight and The Recording Studio.
Prior to this, she held the position of Head of Production and Development at Foxtel since 2013. While at Foxtel, Josie was instrumental in the production of Foxtel’s non-scripted slate including successful programs such as Gogglebox, The Great Australian Bake Off and Coast Australia along with the original productions Unchartered with Sam Neill, Local Justice, The Archibald and Gene-Pool Productions, Lawless. She also supervised lifestyle factual series including Grand Designs Australia, Village Vets, River Cottage Australia and Selling Houses Australia.
Before joining Foxtel, Josie worked in the independent production sector, producing shows in a variety of genres for Networks 7, 9, 10, SBS, Foxtel and ABC. Josie’s love of story and content grew while she was studying Theatre and Media at University and her production career began when she produced and directed her own documentary for the ABC, The Dalton Sisters.
