WIFT NSW and NOW AUSTRALIA
Katrina is currently vice president of Women and Film in Television (WIFT) NSW. WIFT NSW created Safer Workplace Strategies, the first post-Weinstein industry wide forum to discuss the impact of sexual harassment on the Australian screen industry. Katrina’s outreach to women filmmakers across Australia led to the founding of the national organisation WIFT Australia which has active representatives in every state and territory. She is the Queensland WIFT Australia board member. Katrina is also a founding member of NOW Australia, a not for profit organisation dedicated to eradicating sexual harassment in all Australian workplaces. She is the WIFT Australia representative on the NOW Australia board. She is also an award-winning filmmaker and emerging playwright. Her play, Siti Rubiyah, is currently in development with Contemporary Asian Australian Performance. Although she writes in many genres, her true love is feminist horror.
