Michael Aldrich grew up in Melbourne, Australia. He began his career at Sony Music Entertainment, moving through the ranks of Sales, Marketing and Publicity over 8 years until reaching the position of Manager of Colombia Records Publicity and Artist Relations. There he worked with artists such as Delta Goodrem, Bruce Springsteen and Something For Kate.

He then moved to the UK and into television, working for production companies in London and Amsterdam, where he attained the position of General Manager of International Sales.

After 7 years, he was invited to return home to Melbourne to take up the position of General Manager of Fred Media, WTFN Entertainment’s international distribution division. There he worked on series such as Bondi Vet, The Living Room and Vet on the Hill, securing broadcast licenses in all territories while managing a very successful and well-respected team.

After 5 years at Fred, he left to launch his own consultation business, Greenhills Media and has spent the last year helping independent producers find customers around the world. He is currently working on launching his own distribution business along with a new paradigm in international content marketing, which he is keen to share with producers of all content types to help find new sales for old libraries and fund future productions.

Michael is hosting two Roundtables on “What do international buyer want?”. Michael recently conducted a survey at MIPCOM to find out what is motivating buyers during this digital disruption era and would like to share those results.
