Patrick Abboud is a multi award-winning television presenter, investigative journalist, broadcaster, documentary filmmaker, commentator, emcee and diversity champion. Currently his unique storytelling reaches millions on SBS VICELAND’s The Feed where he presents and directs long form documentary, celebrity interviews and unique mini docos. Pat is a former VJ turned broadcaster and factual television director/ producer. He has uncovered compelling stories from all over the world. His recent documentary Breaking Point: Bullying’s Deadly Toll exposes an epidemic of Bullying in Australia’s schools. It’s described as ‘Must Watch TV’ (The Guardian), ‘a documentary every Australian needs to see’ (news.com.au). Pat has directed content for the world’s largest LGBTQI live event broadcast, The Sydney Mardi Gras for the past 5 years and also co-hosted this award winning program alongside Magda Szubanski, Tom Ballard and Joel Creasy. Pat’s love of pop culture and cinema has also seen him write, direct and host specialist movie shows on SBS VICELAND. Patrick speaks Arabic, German and English and has lived and worked in front and behind the camera across Australia, The Middle East, The United States, Asia and Europe for more than a decade. His ability to connect with broad audiences have earned him nominations for Most Popular Presenter at The TV Week Logie Awards 3 years running and Presenter of the Year and the international LGBTI Awards for the past 2 years. He won the 2018 Kennedy Award for outstanding nightly TV current affairs. His storytelling has been nominated for multiple awards at the Walkelys, Amnesty International Media Awards and United Nations Media Awards. In 2017 Cosmopolitan magazine named Pat one of the 50 most influential LGBTI voices. In 2017 he was also nominated for LGBTI Journalist of the Year. In 2016 he won Broadcaster of the Year at the LGBTI Honour Awards.
