Rick Kalowski has been Head of Comedy at ABC since late 2013, responsible for overseeing development and production of all adult fully scripted comedy for each of ABC TV’s main channel, ABC COMEDY channel, ABC iview, as well as collaboration with ABC Audio Studios on comedy podcasts. To date, Rick has overseen some 50 TV or digital series of multi-award-winning, internationally broadcast comedy – some 150 hours and 300 episodes – including Utopia, Rosehaven (with Sundance TV (US)), The Letdown (with Neflix), Get Krack!n, Please Like Me (Season 2-4) (with Pivot (US)), Upper Middle Bogan (Seasons 2 and 3), Ronny Chieng: International Student (with Comedy Central (US)), the ABC Comedy Showroom broadcast pilot season, Squinters, The Moodys, forthcoming Sky UK co-production Frayed (from Merman Television), as well as digital series The Katering Show Season 2, F*cking Adelaide, Wrong Kind of Black, Lost in Pronunciation and many others. An award winning comedy writer/producer with a previous background as a lawyer, Rick has frequently been named among The Age/Sydney Morning Herald’s ‘Most Influential People in Television’.
