Sasha Close is a Film Programming Manager and independent cinema consultant. Sasha has worked on both sides of the cinema industry, starting in distribution before moving into exhibition and programming. Sasha is currently Programming Manager at Wallis Cinemas in South Australia.
In 2016, Sasha was the recipient of the Natalie Miller Fellowship. Sasha joined the Independent Cinemas of Australia Board in 2016 and is a current member of the Screen Australia Gender Matters Taskforce. Sasha is interested in ensuring the diversity of content and stories on cinema screens in Australia and in August 2018 launched a program entitled ‘Discover’ to support predominately Australian content at Wallis Cinemas.
Sasha will be hosting a Roundtable on “Understanding the exhibition market in Australia”.
