Since establishing Fulcrum with See-Saw Films and Barry Sechos in 2008, Fulcrum has assisted in the financed of over 300 film, television and documentary productions.
Sharon has over 20 years’ experience in commercial and business affairs in film finance companies in the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. While in the United Kingdom, Sharon was Head of Business Affairs for several tax-based film funds, reviewed the library for BBC Films, worked with Portman Film and Television and was an independent advisor to Scottish Screen.
Sharon started her career in the banking industry, working for Westpac bank, a large Australian bank. In her role at Westpac she was responsible for originating midmarket corporate loans. While at Westpac she also managed non-compliant loans.
Sharon is currently on the Gender Matters Taskforce, co-president of the New Zealand Screen Production and Development Association and is a member of AACTA. Sharon has also been an industry representative for the New Zealand Film Commission New Zealand Screen Production Grant Panel, an assessor for Screen Australia’s 2015 and 2016 Enterprise Programme and is immediate past president of Women in Film and Television (New Zealand).
Sharon will be co-hosting a Roundtable with Graeme Russell from Media Super on “Everything to know about the Producer Offset, PDV Offset and cash flow financing”.
