Wendy Howell has recently joined the team at Creative Representation/Token and Guesswork Television as a Literary Agent. In her role as Manager, Industrial Affairs at the Australian Writers’ Guild and Business Affairs Executive at Scripted Ink. she passionately negotiated better pay, improved conditions and respect for Australian writers of film, TV, stage, radio and interactive works and fought for recognition for the vital role they play in the industry and our society as storytellers and creators. She was admitted to practice law in 2000 and has worked in-house at some of the world’s leading media organisations including BBC Worldwide and ITV Digital in London and News Corp in New York. As VP, Sales & Production at Odin’s Eye Entertainment, she set up an unprecedented direct output deal with Time Warner for digital distribution, sold an eclectic slate of film and TV content and racked up valuable experience and frequent flyer miles negotiating acquisition and distribution deals across all platforms at major film and TV festivals and markets including Sundance, Berlin, Cannes, Toronto, MIPCOM and AFM. Wendy also spent several years in Los Angeles working with renowned producers including Mike Macari (The Ring), William J. MacDonald (Rome), Mike S. Ryan (Junebug) and Phyllis Laing (The Haunting in Connecticut) developing and packaging film and TV projects for the international marketplace.
